The Genesis of Creation: Inspired by Ancient Chinese Myths of Pangu and Nüwa.
Drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese myths of Pangu’s creation of the heavens and Nüwa’s creation of humanity, we explore an imagined tale of the genesis of all things, culminating in the emergence of humankind. In this narrative, the world is formed through the dichotomy of good and evil, where both forces coexist, balance, and limit each other. Ultimately, good and evil cannot be truly separated; they merge into one, resulting in the creation of humans.
Each person embodies this duality, representing both good and evil, as well as the principles of yin and yang. Human nature is fundamentally inclined towards laziness and the pursuit of pleasure. However, we must confront our desires and fears, striving to suppress and overcome them in order to understand the essence of humanity.
For us, good and evil are inseparable, and we can never completely eradicate evil, as it signifies the origin of desire. Even if we achieve enlightenment, we can never entirely eliminate the “serpent” within our hearts. This duality is an intrinsic part of our nature, symbolizing the perpetual struggle between our higher aspirations and our base instincts.
